YESTERDAY WAS MRS. BLAIR'S BIRTHDAY! The kids were so sweet and celebrated her birthday with a very beautiful banner and some rollerskating. ;)

Yesterday was the first day of prototyping for our Living Museum! We passed out a very important pink paper with expectations and a calendar to help everyone organize their time well.

Mrs. O’Rourke came to talk to us about being a little bit cleaner during lunch time, so please remind your student to clean up after themselves at lunch. We were very surprised to hear about this (as a whole grade-level!) so we are hoping creating better habits at lunch will give us more privileges.

TODAY WAS SO FUN! Prototypes are well on their way and the kids are doing a great job of organizing and cleaning up.

HUMANITIES: yesterday, we practiced an expository essay by using a graphic organizer to help us visualize the topic, 3 main ideas, and practiced interesting and informational topic sentences. Today the kids finished their graphic organizers for their water essay.**

Homework: Some students may still be working on revising narratives for a better score (due tomorrow) and a “main idea” question is due tomorrow as well.

SCIENCE: we researched supporting details for our water essay** (what role did water play in each ancient civilization).

Homework: students should be completed with their graphic organization for their water essays and should be ready to write their rough drafts tomorrow and Friday (if they’re ahead of the game then okie dokie!).

MATH: Most kids have a worksheet for homework tonight. No homework is turned in (inbox is empty) so if you’re unsure if your student has finished it, please ask them to show you! Should be taped in their math notebook.

Compact 6/7: Quiz on Friday on Dividing Mixed Numbers! (no worksheet homework)

Compact 7/8: Complete Math XL for 2-10 (no worksheet homework)

**Expository Water Essay is a cross-curricular assignment where we will be using both ELA and Science time to complete.
