Distance Learning - week 10

Here we are! The last big push before a project due date! Typically during this week, we are scrambling, there are chairs everywhere, hot glue guns, feathers, cardboard scraps, we’re all screaming for some reason, and obviously glitter. But enough about my home.

Week 10’s Week-at-a-Glance is quite unique. Here are some highlights to point out:

  • We’ll be going over the colony checklist, the content rubric, and presentation rubric during live sessions.

  • Students are required to sign up with a teacher to practice their presentation.

  • There are 4 parts to the project (also stated in the week-at-a-glance) and ALL ARE DUE JUNE 11th.

  • If your student is pre-recording their presentation, that is also DUE JUNE 11th.

  • Any LIVE presentations will be June 15th, from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Let us know if you’d like to join and we will make sure you get the link!

REMINDER: electives are different than core! Please be sure to attend their lives sessions if applicable, and continue to check-in and participate in those courses!

As tradition holds, with the end of every school year comes the beginning of the Camas Public Library’s Summer Reading Program! This was something I always looked forward to doing when I was in elementary school and middle school, and even volunteered at the Camas Library just so I could read by myself in the library...but also so I could walk to the Burgerville down the hill by myself. :) This year it will take place virtually. Please see their website for more information on how to sign up! THERE ARE PRIZES!

One more thing: the results of our elections are in! You should have received an email from Ms. Penny today. It was a tough fight for all of our candidates and we are proud of all of them!

Congratulations to our new 7th grade representatives: ELLA ZIESEMER and LYLA ENDRESON! And congratulations to our ASB treasurer: KAYLIE FOSTER!

As always, if you find that you or your student are stressed, have fallen behind, or just need to clarify questions, please feel free to email any of us and we’ll do what we can to help!
