It's the Final Countdown [insert Europe Song here]

Our final Week-at-a-Glance is available here.

You made it! Congratulations Gryphons, it goes without saying that this school year comes to an end much differently than any others in our experience. Yet, thankfully there are some things that are routine this time of year. The first being final presentations. It’s been fantastic to see the hard work, creative thinking and collaboration all come together in students’ Mission to Mars colony presentations. On Monday, those students who signed up for a live presentation will have their day. You can find the Presentation Schedule here. Parents, if you would like to join us for any of these presentations, please email one of us teachers and we will send you the meet link.

Secondly, students do have one assignment this week, and that is to watch and give feedback on at least two presentations of their peers. Recorded presentations can be found HERE. Information is also available in the Playlist.

Third, there will be no live class sessions on Monday because of presentations. For Tuesday, we would like all students to join the Gryphons Classroom Link at 10:00 AM for a 6th grade Family Meeting. If you have an announcement, shout-out or celebration you can Sign-up here. At 11:00 AM students can log into their House for a guest leader and games. Our final live session will occur at 9:00 AM on Wednesday with one last Family Meeting in Gryphons Classroom followed by one last House Meeting.

Fourth, Odyssey will be open from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Wednesday June, 17th - Friday, June 19th for any students who need to return library books or pick up any items for our learning spaces. Space within the building will be limited to 10 people at a time and masks are required for entry. Please email Ms. Penny with any questions.

Fifth, what would a school year be without wishing our students a safe and enjoyable summer. To that end, there will be a drive BYE parade in front of Discovery on Friday, June 19th from 11:00 AM - NOON. We would love to see you...from a distance...and give you a heartfelt wave as you transition to summer. For those who can’t make it, look to our Instagram or Facebook pages for live streaming.

Lastly, it has been our absolute pleasure in welcoming your children to middle school this past year. Even with distance learning the personal, academic and social emotional growth in each of our students has been visible and a joy to see. We first see our students when we get their 5th grade pictures uploaded to our class lists and it always brings smiles to our faces to see how much they grow at this time in their lives. With the news that schools are expected to open in the fall, we can’t wait to see all our students make the walk up the stairs to 7th grade, albeit a couple inches taller and a little bit wiser. Just be sure to come down and say hello from time to time.
