No school tomorrow. Teachers are attending state institute offerings. Enjoy your 3 day weekend. Don't forget Curriculum Night for parents is Wednesday 10/16 from 5:30 to 7. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Today was a rotation day. During Curiosity Cruise, students are very focused on researching their topics. Presentations are coming up: October 24th and 25th.
ELA: We read the story All Summer in a Day a short story about a girl who lives on Venus. Our discussion revolved around character traits and theme. We will be working on a CER next week. HOMEWORK final draft of photo story is due MONDAY with a rubric.
MATH: Today's topic was finding area of a parallelogram. Only one group was assigned HOMEWORK in the workbook: Lesson 3 practice. The key is posted in the Math Google Classroom.
SCIENCE: We continued to work through the article about the recent discoveries in brain research. The kids were excited to realize that the philosophy of Odyssey follows several of the ideas! (Mistakes are essential for learning, Learning is social.)
HOMEWORK none, though there are still 30 kiddos who have something missing from Google Classroom!
