Now that we've put the crime scene behind us, after an amazing day of presentations, today we focused on thinking, listening and understanding routines. In science students were split into groups where one person had the information necessary to recreate a structure and the other person had to build the structure. However, those who were building could only listen. This helped develop their active listening and collaboration skills. In math, students had to convince a skeptic using evidence and logic. Finally in humanities we introduced the Understanding concept map developed by Harvard's Project Zero - http://www.pz.harvard.edu/resources/understanding-map We use this map as a way for students to make their thinking visible and to demonstrate they understand a particular concept. All in all a great day to be a Gryphon and to develop our creed of learning for life.
