It's been a long week. We've done so much! It'll be good to rest a bit this weekend. But first, let's review what was up today.
The big news is our colony groups began more detailed and specific plans for their Habs (habitation buildings). Commander Stalheim outlined some specifics that needed to be included, such as sleeping quarters, a kitchen, a bathroom, a common area for entertainment, and an airlock with storage. We had lots of great discussion about the best use of space and which shapes give us that. We also learned that we we need to dedicate at least 100 sq meters per person to a greenhouse. We started thinking creatively about how to best access these crops by growing "up" instead of spreading "out".
Math time was used to review geometry for the Hab. There were lots of good questions about using the formulas we now to determine area of other shapes. Blue polygon worksheets were due today.
Science time was used to finish up some research on how the new colonies would utilize the natural resources on Mars. This digital document was due in Google Classroom today at 2:00.
We did not read today, but chapters 6 - 10 questions are due in Google Classroom on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend and Happy Passover and Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate them!
