We'll bet you may have a bit more of the candy around your house this week!

Humanities: We researched the 6 different civilizations we'll be focusing on for our next big project: Mayan, Chinese, Indus, Egyptian, Greek, and Mesopotamia. Students located each on a world map and then found 5 facts for each. HOMEWORK If the map and 5 facts were not finished during class, they need to be done this evening.

Math: Today we moved from 2 dimensional figures to 3 dimensional figures. We are now using the term "face" instead of the word "side". HOMEWORK Lesson 12 practice problems were assigned to rotations 1 and 2 only.

Science: It was a fun time in Science today. We extracted DNA from volunteers via gargling with salt water. Then using dish soap and isopropyl alcohol we were able to actually see long strands of DNA! We used tweezers to get it on a slide so we could view it close up on with the microscopes. It was pretty neat. HOMEWORK There are two links in Google Classroom to read through by Wednesday. ALSO students should do another 10 minutes of work on the brain brochures. About half of the work should be written, collected by Wednesday.

NEW VOCABULARY! Click here for the words your kids need to use in their conversation journals this week. We encourage you to work them into your dinner conversations at home, too!
