Today was a whirlwind of learning! Let's get to brass tax (Mrs. Stalheim just recently learned this phrase).
Humanities: Students had two rotations of humanities today. We looked at peer examples and evaluated their work using the rubric, and discussed ways of improving our writing. Students also got a glimpse of our "Curiosity Cruise" which is a student-chosen research project! It'll be exciting to see what they choose and what piques the interest of these cuties.
NO HOMEWORK unless something is not turned in on Humanities Google Classroom.
Science: These kids were SO interested in how we see colors and how are brains interpret different senses! We also made brain hats, they're really cute. They did not fit Mrs. Stalheim's head.

Math: We learned about what it means to find the area of a polygon, and it is NOT just memorizing a formula! It was fun to play with Tangrams (some of us got to play with it at least...some used it as a toy, schucks!) and see how decomposing and recomposing/rearranging shapes keeps the same area. Click here for a digital/interactive copy of Tangrams.
HOMEWORK: pages 17-19 (Lesson 2 Practice Problems) in workbook.
p.s. Save the date! Curriculum Night on Wednesday, 10/16, from 6pm-7pm. More information sent at a later date!
