How weird to be returning to class after only a two day weekend! Hopefully you enjoyed the sunshine on Saturday. It looks like clouds are predicted for the rest of the week. That did not put a damper on our solar car work, though.
SCIENCE: Teams in Blue and Red had a work day where they chose their own question to pursue. Lots of successful testing today. Shout out to Matayah and Collin who got their prototype rolling along today! Homework bring in materials for solar cars.
MATH: YOU GUYS, MRS. STALHEIM IS BACK. We continued with Lesson 8 covering constant speed. We learned the difference between SPEED and PACE with regard to unit rate. We are using what we know about unit rate, speed, and pace to help us find who is faster (in a situation) and how we know they're faster.
HOMEWORK: Lesson 8 Practice Problems
HUMANITIES: In our reading rotations we introduced an assignment for our last reading standard (see link at the bottom). Within this assignment, students have choice in how to demonstrate their knowledge of plot and characterization, and of course in how to present their information. Yellow and blue rotations will have work time in class on Tuesday, with the understanding that it will be due on Thursday.
