Today was our first taste of flexible scheduling. We have the majority of the class working on an "anchor activity", something everyone already knows how to do and can occupy a large amount of time. While that is happening, small groups are pulled for sessions in other content area. Today kids were pulled for math, where they began a mathematical practices fold-able project (this final project will be due next Friday, 9/28) or to learn about our Presentation Rubric, which will be used for evaluating the group presentations tomorrow. In 6th grade we focus primarily on the skills of eye contact, body language, and voice. More skills are added in 7th and 8th great so that all Gryphons are competent presenters before they go to high school.

Group work to get ready for Friday afternoon's presentations was the anchor activity today. Teams are responsible for presenting their case for what happened at Felix's beach house last Friday. They must include at least 3 pieces of evidence that supports their claims.

Finally, individual written CERs (claim, evidence, reasoning) are due in the Science Google Classroom Monday morning. These can be different from what the team presented on Friday, but must include three pieces of evidence to support whatever claim they make. It's been fun listening to them piece together all the clues.
