(Yikes - tech difficulties with this blog post earlier have been fixed!)
Despite a general nervousness, almost all of the kids came back beaming from their presentations. Thank you to all the marvelous Sharks who came to be our students' judges for their Design Thinking projects and shared your expertise with our young designers. We will be reviewing all the rubrics and announcing our winner later this week. Please check with your student to ensure they have completed the self and peer collaboration rubric posted in the Gryphon Classroom.
Today's day was anchored with coding. Students not in a core class spent their time with the CS First curriculum, moving toward their goal of completing 2 passport classes by the end of the month.
Humanities: Students were working on geography retakes today. Tomorrow will see the start of the United Nations unit. If your kid wants a sneaky-peak, they should look for an email from Mrs. Blair with links to some videos.
Math: We talked about finding equivalent ratios and compared ratios using ratio tables. No new homework, so if you've got some late lingering work, tonight is your night to get caught up!
Science: There are microscopes in the lab! We reviewed the names of the different parts and how to use them. Then we tried out our skills with some pre-made slides. Tomorrow we will make our own slides and take a closer look at some animal cells.
There was something else we wanted to tell you, but sadly, we can't remember right now...hopefully it'll come to us soon and wasn't time sensitive!
