PICTURE DAY IS SEPT 17. Order forms were sent home today.
Today was so fun! We took some of our evidence into the "lab" to perform some tests. These results helped us determine whether or not a specific piece of evidence was connected to particular suspects. We learned that something was done to Felix's drink! It tested as a base when our control sample of freshly opened cola was an acid on the pH scale. We also discovered that the mystery threads at the scene did NOT come from either of the two wool sweaters. Ask your kids what else our tests uncovered. More testing on more evidence coming Monday! Special shout out to Ms. Ostap, Ms. Abu Alya, Ms. Lavagnino, Ms. Daane, Ms. Ryan, and Mr. and Mrs Brendtro for their assistance at some of the stations today. THANK YOU!!!
In Math, students worked on rough drafts of graphs that demonstrated relationships without numbers. Only pictures and words are allowed. This is helping students get into the practice of explaining their thinking as well as being logical.
For Humanities, students worked on creating a narrative from the perspective of one of the suspects in our CSI case. They were able to use their imagination to develop a story that was fun and entertaining, while showcasing where they are right now as writers.
