Well, this is the first cloudy day we've had in awhile! But we managed to get through it with lots of positivity and fun and so many smiles and all with your sweet baby angels. Plus this is the first time they are bringing homework home!
But first, we'd like to say that we are officially having snack time right before the kids leave for electives. We will be unleashing the snack hounds right around 2:00pm! And to be honest, I'll be right behind them with a snack as well! :)
HOMEWORK
ELA: read the article in NewsELA about cell phones in France. Use your best writing skills (paying close attention to the "non-negotiables": punctuation, capitalization, grammar) and express your opinion using evidence in the NewsELA article.
Science: look for a resource that will help us understand how the brain learns. Websites can be linked in Google Classroom (in response to the posted question).
Math: In the math journal (one section of the spiral notebook), try and find every number from 1 to 20 using only four 4’s – all four of them have to be used each time – and any operation. I know, this can be confusing. Here's an example!
1 = 4 / 4 + 4 - 4 (we used four 4s and any operations to help us get 1!)
2 = (4 / 4) + (4 / 4) (we used four 4s and any operations to help us get 2!)
3 = (you will now have to do this on our own...)
I'm allowing students to stop what they're doing if after 20-30 min they are frustrated and on the verge of a mental break down. The idea is to get them to freely speak about math with parents/families so please feel free to work on this within your families!
Let's all make sure those chromebooks are charged! :) Let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
