Yep, that's today's national celebration. Also, relevant because math is hanging out with rational numbers! Here are the day's highlights:
HUMANITIES: Students began serious work on their historical fiction narratives. Mrs. Blair asked your writers to develop a story arc and generate a pool of sensory details that will help the reader see through the eyes of their main character (a citizen from their ancient civilization.) They discussed a good story puts obstacles in front of a character trying to get what s/he wants most! Optional Homework: begin writing your narrative. This can be digital or handwritten.
MATH: Groups were finishing up quizzes and practicing more with rational numbers and the different operations. Please check Google Classroom/Pearson for assignments. Different groups have different assignments!
SCIENCE: Student groups wrapped up their PSA videos. Lots of editing happened today. Finishing touches may be needed tonight if your student has access to their video. Otherwise, please check Google Classroom for any late assignments. 35% of us haven't turned in the Hawaii Hot Spot CER yet!
