It's National Eat a Pretzel Day! Mrs. Stalheim's favorite dip for pretzels is the cheese at Hopworks. It's so good, you guys.
Curiosity Cruise: PRESENTATIONS on THURSDAY AND FRIDAY MORNINGS! Today we worked on the "Works Cited" for our research. It should be the last slide and full of a variety of reliable resources.
HOMEWORK: ask your student to present to your their 3-5 min presentation!
ELA: today we introduced guidelines and rules for Socratic Seminars! We'll have our first Socratic Seminar tomorrow over the question, "What is Halloween?" based off of the reading we annotated and the question we developed earlier.
HOMEWORK: Students should come prepared to the Socratic Seminar with questions, pre-planned responses and any additional information for those wanting to score a 4.
Science: today we finished our Maze Memory experiment! We concluded that repetition increases learning but intentional practice gives us better learning results. We began reviewing animal and plant cells.
HOMEWORK: read or review the pages in Google Classroom!
Math: we did more learning and making connections about triangles and parallelograms! It was a fun day of seeing the relationship in how to find the area of a triangle using our background knowledge of a parallelogram and rectangles (which are parallelograms).
HOMEWORK: Lesson 8 Practice Problems! Answer key is in Google Classroom.
