Hope everyone's out there celebrating all the great holidays happening today, including but not limited to: National Sock Day, National Brown Shoe Day, and last but certainly #1 in Mrs. Stalheim's book, National Cookie Day! Speaking of National Brown Shoe Day, did you know we're doing a shoe drive? We are collecting as many lightly worn shoes to donate to a company to help refurbish said shoes. Also, we are selling socks! Well, the PTO is selling socks to help raise funds! Socks come in packs of 3, and everytime you buy a pack, they donate a pack to someone in need. It's a pretty great way to celebrate today's holidays. And eat some cookies, that's a great way to celebrate!

Humanities: one part of Humanities today involved students looking at their timeline wall and doing a Critical Thinking Protocol (see-think-wonder). The other half of Humanities worked on revising and re-submitting their argumentative essays WITH WORKS CITED! :) Reminder: students have a vocab quiz tomorrow! (click here for a list of vocab words!

HOMEWORK:

  1. study for vocab and

  2. make sure the revisions and works cited are top-notch to submit tonight!

Science: today we finished up our skits on plate tectonic boundaries! It was cute to see and hear how the kids interpreted the movement and results of plate tectonics. We also did a cool divergent boundary activity!

HOMEWORK:

  1. Watch the hot spot videos on Google Classroom and take notes! GOOD ONES!

Math: today we used more of our knowledge about diagrams and applied that to some ratio language. We got a little hungry talking about spaghetti sauce. Fun fact: Mrs. Stalheim's favorite food is spaghetti!

HOMEWORK:

  1. Lesson 2 Practice Problems
