Today Blue and Red had a turn with the gears and motors. Lots of "A Ha" moments. It was fun to watch them figure things outs. Look for pics on our social media accounts. Thank you to all those who found boxes for us. We still need a dozen more, so please look during the weekend. Also shout out to the Spencers, the Daanes and the Ostaps. They sent in battery chargers and wire stripper tools and a whole bunch of zip ties and other potential building supplies. If you are interested in helping out Wednesday morning next week (no experience required!) please send an email to kerin.motsinger@camas.wednet.edu. No homework.

Yellow and Blue rotations spent today making text to text connections between the book Wrinkle in Time and a short clip from the film Pleasantville. Here are just some of the connections students made: both start with a storm to indicate something is about to happen, both have an older character who surprises the younger characters, the main premise for both is that the characters are transported to a new and strange world, both have characters that are curious and stubborn, both go to worlds that seem “perfect” on the outside but are really dystopias, both have worlds that are dull or black and white…and Reese Witherspoon is in both of the movies - that one is an extra. I was impressed with their connections, after which students wrote a short comparison paragraph explaining the connections.

In Humanities, the Green and Red rotations discussed the metaphorical meaning of light and darkness in The City of Ember. Rotations also read chapters 13 and 14. There is no homework this weekend.

Math homework: Lesson 4 or Lesson 7 practice problems. Your kiddo should know which one! Have a good weekend.
