In Humanities, we introduced the Ancient Civilization Hall of Fame. Each civilization must present and defend their greatest contributions to human history. Additionally students are researching contributions of other civilizations as a form of learning about argumentative writing, concession and rebuttal. We also went over what makes a good and not so good CER, then revisited their own from last week. HOMEWORK Revisions should be submitted by tomorrow morning.

In Math today, all rotations are about to finish Unit 1! We will definitely be done by tomorrow, then early release Wednesday, and then final Unit 1 assessment on Thursday. Please continue to look at the Surface Area Proficiency Scale/Rubric for things to work on to prepare for this final unit assessment. DUE ON THURSDAY: all practice problems for all lessons must be completed for Unit 1 by this final assessment date.

For Science, students continued working on puzzling together how the continents must have once been together. Students are now using these "new-old" maps to establish evidence that supports the theory of Continental Drift. HOMEWORK CER supporting continental drift theory is due by 2:00 pm tomorrow.

Here are this week's vocab words to be used in conversation journals. Feel free to use them at home, too!
