This morning we were back in our rotations with lots of work to get done!
Science: GROW IS A GO! Kids started their Grow Missions today! THANK YOU SO MUCH for the soil donations and pots! We have our procedures written, variables identified, and seeds a sewin'. Some students have special liquids needed for their plants, so please make sure to bring those tomorrow.
Math: We finally got started on building our Habs (habitat on Mars). We learned we can only used 4 different polygons to decompose and recompose our Habs (triangle, rectangle, trapezoid, and parallelogram). Check with your kids about their new foldables (Geometry Toolkit!).
Humanities: There were a few comprehension questions that needed a little more explaining so Mrs. Blair sat the kids down and did some reteaching. It was a great time for students to complete some reading they might have missed, revised some comprehension questions, and had PLT.
Project Time: students drafted up some Hab ideas on NASA approved drafting paper (one student likes to keep reminding me "it's just graph paper, Mrs. Stalheim!" -- nuh-uh! It's DRAFTING PAPER!) and shared their ideas with their colonies. Everyone did a great job of working together and then researching different designs that have already been developed!
IT WAS A GREAT DAY!
