DAY 5 of Design Thinking! It's been a great day learning about prototyping. Each group made a storyboard to demonstrate the user experience and then made a prototype (object, poster, 3-D drafts) to help the Sharks (judges) understand their experience better. Feedback is our next step, which we will talk about thoroughly on Monday!
Don't forget to send your kid to school looking professional (or just something nicer than basketball shorts hehe) next THURSDAY and FRIDAY for our Shark Tank presentations!
In Humanities with Mr. More, we started writing our rough draft after pitching our ideas for the new narrative. This rough draft is based off of the photo story (in Google Classroom).
Homework: complete your rough draft in at least 400 words.
Today in math we learned the importance of deep thinking and taking your time. It's a hard practice for some kiddos but we practiced with finding some patterns in sequences of numbers. We had some rich discussions and it was amazing to hear everyone's conjectures!
Homework: What's the pattern? 20, 10, 5, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1...(the next number is 4 again but the kids don't know that. If you need help, look up "Hailstone Sequences".)
As always, please feel free to email us anytime if you have questions or concerns. Facebook and Instagram or a great place to check out photos and events but any questions for teachers can be directed to teacher email. We want to make sure we're able to answer it in a timely manner! :)
