What we did today:
It was a great first day with our Gryphons as we explored their new space and expectations. The day started with some community building within our houses before lunch, and then we started our first project shortly after lunch. Our big question of the unit is "Who Am I?" which we will explore with various assignments in the next few weeks. We made two trips to Discovery (which is a daily occurrence) for lunch and learning about their electives. Ask your kiddo how that went!
Nitty Gritty aka HOMEWORK (I originally had this at the bottom of this post but then I was thinking you guys probably want this closer to the top, so here you go!):
Check your kid's planner! There's homework in there regarding pizza. They just need to ask everyone what their favorite toppings are so we can graph them tomorrow!
Tomorrow we are continuing some art stuff (we are tracing silhouettes of everyone's profiles, and they'll draw some symbols that represent them) so please remind students to have their art supplies. This is due Friday but should not be brought home because they will be given pllleeeeentttyyyyy of time here at school. :)
Also, notebooks, please have them bring those if they aren't here!
Some fun things:
We are writing each week to all of our kids in special "Conversation Journals". Every morning, students will pick up their journal (color-coded composition books) and write 5-10 sentences about anything they want. Once a week their house leader (Blair, Motsinger, or Stalheim) will reply to them. It's just a fun way to get to know your kids and another way for them to communicate concerns/questions with us. Also. If you're looking for composition books, don't bother looking at Target. We bought them out. :) #sorrynotsorry
Can't wait to see your sweet angels tomorrow!
