What an interesting experience we had at the West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center And Tidewater Barge port. Yellow and Blue did a walking tour around the collection facility and were surprised by the number of shipping containers filled there daily. (16 to20!) We saw the giant recycling machinery and discovered about 25 people manually sort through what is going through to make sure the material is as pure as possible. We also learned that it gets shut down at least 3 times a day because someone recycled something they shouldn't have that clogs the machinery. I'm looking forward to taking Red and Green next week on Wednesday. Look for some photos on our social media later today.
A super special thank you to Mrs. Tautfest, Mrs. Tovar, Mrs. Dueck, Mrs. Lavagnino, Mrs. Ostap, and Mr. Foley for chaperoning today. You're the best!
Math homework for today is lesson 3.1 practice problems for Red and Green only.
Red and Green read City of Ember through chapter 7 and made predictions. There is vocab assigned in Google Classroom. Be sure to check the due dates as we have some weird scheduling for the next week.
