The most important thing that happened today was our surprise mission, our Farewell party for Mrs. Dixon! The students organized and carried out a lovely celebration for our departing student teacher. She definitely felt the love. Thank you to you parents who helped your student with any contributions or gifts. It was lovely.
We also finished reading The Martian. It was a very satisfying ending and there was applause and cheering when we came to the final pages. Vocabulary from the book was due to be submitted this afternoon. Student are now responsible for studying these words for the test that will occur on Tuesday. Thank you for helping your student practice these 25 words. They can be accessed through the Humanities classroom. Also, chapter 21 - 25 questions are due in Google Classroom tomorrow.
In Science we began a new mission: Waste Management. Yes, we got to talk about poop today. Turns out there are lots of uses for human waste that could serve some good purposes in our colonies, while mildly nauseating, it was VERY interesting. This research mission is due tomorrow at 2:00.
Math time saw more practice with surface area and volume. Please consult Pearson for any homework.
