With the buzz of potential snow in the air, it's refreshing to things of this sweet fruit! Hope you are readying for potential snowflakes, but let's review the day at Odyssey, shall we?
Blue and Red rotations went to science. We reviewed the plastic types from our last on Tuesday via game show format! Then we discussed why we have so many different types of plastics and why they should be sorted before they are recycled. To end our learning time students paired up to write questions for a Kahoot game that could be answered with the 3 materials that were to be reviewed for homework earlier this week. HOMEWORK Our waste audit is tomorrow. We will be taking a closer look at what we designated as waste in our learning spaces today at Odyssey and after lunch tomorrow. (Gloves will be provided!) DO NOT wear your best clothes/shoes tomorrow.
Green and Yellow rotations had math. We learned more about the differences between and ratio tables and double number lines. We also realized how to organize ratios in both strategies.
HOMEWORK: Lesson 13 Practice Problems!
Thinking Ahead: Assessment next week! Hopefully mid-week, depending on the snow day. ;)
During Language Arts we finished our mini-lessons on the three styles of writing by covering argumentative style. Students then practiced their argumentative skills by writing a short paragraph. For those students who did not finish their paragraph, it is homework, with yellow and blue rotations due tomorrow, and red and green due on Monday. HOMEWORK vocab and spelling test tomorrow! Lots of kids made and were practicing with flash cards. Also writing assignments are due.
