Humanities: Today your kiddos worked hard finishing up the Lascaux cave narrative drafts. We also did peer editing with a check-list. The consensus is that the rules of quotation marks are challenging to master. I'm excited about what I'm reading over their shoulders. Lots of interesting dialogue and references to the time period (1940's) and the place (France). Mrs. Motsinger, Mrs. Dixon and I worked with small groups and individual students during the whole work session. It is so wonderful to have three of us who can go over these pieces with our young writers. I am very excited to read these over the Thanksgiving break!
Math: Like yesterday, Mrs. Stalheim was able to pull a couple groups for focused math sessions. Some of our students have homework and some don't. Please check in with your child.
Curiosity Cruisin' continues: Our next set of presentations went well. There were, of course, some nerves. We always tell our students how valuable practicing is to the overall outcome in a presentation. Practice = confidence = great presentations! If your child hasn't gone, have them present to you. Dressing nicely can help with feeling confident too. :)
