I am pursuing my National Board Certification and need signed consent from parents to use student work anonymously as examples. You may select YES or NO, but everyone needs to return the form that was sent home today by Monday. Thanks! - Mrs. M
We continued our work with Design Thinking today by really diving into two project ideas groups came up with. We looked at our projects through the "Vowels" A(activities), E(nviornment), I(nteractions), O(bjects), U(sers), and Y(Why). This helped us really look at things from others' perspectives and what might really be needed in order for our ideas to become do-able. We then began to conduct user interviews to see if there was a desire for either of our projects. We will continue with organizing our data and making decisions and then on to prototyping!
During ELA time we went over elements of characterizations. Students began building their character notes for the upcoming narrative. Homework is to make sure those notes are complete in their notebooks.
Today in math we made connections with triangular numbers and how we see numbers increasing. We talked about growth mindset (yes again) and how important it is in the math world. Sometimes we get stuck in math, and that’s okay, but being able to ask for help is a key quality we are definitely learning this year. We also showed our thinking using colors and explained how figures grow in arithmetic sequence.
