Design Thinking

We launched a new project today: Design Thinking. One of the big parts of Odyssey is our emphasis on using systems to create, evaluate, problems solve and pivot when coming with products. To that end, we spend a fast two weeks using the Design Thinking process to come up with a proposal for improving the experience at Odyssey. Today groups were introduced to that process by evaluating can opener designs and then considering clients' needs in order to recommend two. Then they designed a new tool for their peers that would help them better enjoy their favorite food. We used play doh to prototype, that was fun!

During our Humanities time today we introduced narration, setting and conflict as we began a photo story project that will run concurrent with the design thinking project. No Homework.

Students were still able to explore Pascal's triangle today. Be sure to ask your kids about that activity. Some students need to finish this up tonight.

Science did not meet today, but please check with your student about the two assignment in Google Classroom that were due last week. Several students simply need to press turn in. Others need to be sure to complete the task first.

We're starting to notice more kids getting sick, as tends to happen as we start sharing spaces with large numbers of people again. Please encourage hand washing, healthy eating and a good night sleep. We are sad when your kiddos aren't with us!
