Another full day on the 6th grade floor! After reviewing our goal from yesterday, we did some self evaluation. While we know how to be ready to receive information, the evidence suggests we need a little more practice settling into our family meeting space. We know that we will get there. We also played a student scavenger hunt and discovered new friends who have lots of siblings, have traveled to other continents, speak different languages, read all the Harry Potter books, can whistle with 2 fingers. and all sorts of fun tidbits.
We spent a bit of time working on our silhouettes today. These are a project that will answer the question "Who am I as a person" to all visitors to Odyssey as the finished products will be on display all year in the Penny Arcade. Since we are project based school, we like to plan! Students had the opportunity to first plan what images they would like to include in their silhouettes and then organize them to fill the space. Finally they transferred them, in pencil, to their individual silhouettes. We will continue work on these this week.
Homework; Today is National Eat a Second Dessert Day! In recognition, we have asked your students to poll the members of their families for their favorites. Results will be tallied and shared tomorrow. Also, so students have brought home a health sheet that needs to be completed and returned ASAP!
Looking to Help? We are in need of some parent helpers on Friday, Sept 13th and Monday, Sept. 16th. If you are available from 8:20 to 11:30 and/or 12:30 to 1:40, and have clearance to work in the schools, please contact Mrs. Motsinger ASAP. kerin.motsinger@camas.wednet.edu .
