Math: Our kiddos corrected the 4 Fours assignment (thanks to you awesome parents who assisted with this!). Mrs. Stalheim also talked about frustration in math and how good struggling can be.
Humanities: Today we learned "punctuation referee" (ask your kids---they're really good at it!). We punctuate sentences with our bodies...sounds crazier than it sounds. There are referee symbols representing punctuation marks and I put sentences up on the TV. Fun times! They did great. We also had an in-class debate about cell phones in schools. Lots of great presenting, cordial disagreements and listening. I was impressed. Homework is officially due tomorrow. The question to be answered is in the Humanities classroom.
Science:
Our students modeled the brain in multiple ways (drawing, movement, and modeling clay). We identified the four lobes and students are responsible for one lobe---stating what it does it for humans and how it impacts learning.
Reminder for all 6th grade students from Mrs. Straw:
-Students may (and we encourage them) to wear their fitness clothes to school.
-Fitness clothes consist of athletic shoes (no vans/converse), bottoms (can’t be spandex shorts), and a shirt (no tank tops)
-Be dressed weather appropriate as we may go outside if it's dry but cold
**Mrs. Stalheim would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made her birthday special.**
