A Productive Late Start

As with most of our late start days, we dedicated time to 2 STEM challenges that required students to work together in teams to accomplish specific tasks. Today's teamings were extra special as they revealed who was in their civilization groups! Today's challenges had students creating structures that supported cups and foam balls above the table surface using only specified materials.

Our afternoon was dedicated to our Curiosity Cruisin' project. This is the second project students have been able to choose and they seem more focused and excited this time around now that they have one under their belt. There will only be two more weeks of work time before presentations will begin. We highly encourage you to speak with your child about his/her project progress. The more comfortable they are speaking about it with you, the easier it will be for them to present in front of their peers.

There were no CORE rotations today, so homework is a carry over from yesterday:

Humanities ~ at least 5 notes in each quadrant for your assigned civilization (This is in the 5 subject notebook.)

Math ~ Some have "shopping" worksheets, others have on-line assignments. Check Google Classroom. Also, spending 5 to 10 minutes a night playing with math facts is highly encouraged!

Science ~ none
